Formed in Adelaide, not knowing they would forever change the face of heavy music worldwide, I Killed The Prom Queen emerged as far more than a band — they became a cultural force. Instrumental in laying the foundations of modern metalcore, Prom Queen helped carve the pathways that countless metal and hardcore bands would later follow. Genre-defining acts such as Parkway Drive and Bring Me The Horizon stand among those whose trajectories were shaped by the groundwork Prom Queen helped establish. Across a three-album run, the band didn’t just change the game — they defined it.

In 2025, founding members Michael Crafter (vocals), Jona Weinhofen and Kevin Cameron (guitars), and JJ Peters (drums) reunited — not simply to revisit the past, but as best mates reconnecting through the band that shaped their lives. What began as a celebration of their formative years quickly reaffirmed the bond that made Prom Queen what it was, and what it still can be.

Honouring the low-end legacy of late bassist Sean Kennedy, the band is joined by former vocalist Jamie Hope. Together, I Killed The Prom Queen stands united once again — grounded in history, stronger in friendship, and ready to see what lies ahead.

Sometimes goodbye doesn’t always mean forever.
